ADVICE WANTED
Ok, Mom's (or anyone else that wants to chime in)...I need advice because I am willing to try anything. Here is the situation: We recently moved Kelsi's toddler tub into the bathtub (we used to hook it into our sink in the kitchen). The first 2 times, she was just fine taking baths (as evident from the picture a few posts ago). However, Day 3 started the week of torture. It has been a full week and Kelsi SCREAMS during her whole bath. She tries to get out of the tub and just reaches up to us and SCREAMS. We have bath toys, we sing to her, we splash...all to no avail. I keep thinking "2 weeks makes a habit" so I was planning on trying it again for another full week to see if she just snaps out of it and starts liking it again. I feel awful watching her so scared and upset. I really didn't mind putting her tub in the sink because she LOVED it...I just got tired of having to wipe my floor down afterwards from all of her splashing, and she can't bathe in the toddler tub forever, right? So, if anyone has any tips or suggestions I am open! She is fine with showers, but since I give her baths at night (and John and I shower in the morning), I would rather just still give her a bath. Ready, go!

We have a bubble machine that suctions to the wall and blows bubbles while Ava's taking her baths. Ava loves it. We just got it at walmart for like 10 bucks. Good luck!

I have no idea on that one. My girls have always loved their baths except for about 2 weeks when Emma was about 15 months where she suddenly started to cry at the sight of the bathtub. We just worked through it but it was tough. I like Lindsay's bubble idea. Good luck!

I vote for the bubble idea. I've never had that issue in my house. If I even spell the word "Bath" both kids run up the stairs leaving a trail of discarded clothes in their wake. Good luck, I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough, you're a great smart mommy!

Take a bath with her! LuLu loves getting in my baths so we basically combined the efforts and she loves it. We haven't used the baby bath tub since she was about 3 months old since I take a warm bath to read at least every other night. We get in the tub togehter and she plays with bath toys while I wash her and then Adam gets her to dry her while I soak and read for the rest of my bath:)
Hope the suggestion helps:)

Shoot--give her a shower. Just run the water and scrub that little bum of hers :)

Take her in the bath with you for a few times and play with her. Maybe she won't be as scared if you're with her! Then she can get used to it and maybe venture on her own soon.

It sounds like it's time to get rid of the baby bathtub. (Our old one converted into a seat that could suction onto the tub, but I'm not sure if yours can do that.) If you're worried about her slipping on the bottom you can buy one of those bathtub suction mats that prevent slipping. And I agree with the others, lots of diversions - new bath toys! My kids love the cups that fit inside each other - to pour water from one size to the next.
