Guess what Kelsi is doing????
hehehe...I couldn't resist. She gets SO serious.
Only recently has she started to like her teething ring...cold. She might be starting to get a little teething action.

Kelsi and her friends

John thought it would be fun to have some friends over for a BBQ yesterday. This is a picture of Cole, rolling over to play with his new "toy". Kelsi, who still refuses to roll over is not sure of what to do....
Cole grabs Kelsi's hand and starts sucking on it! Kelsi DID NOT like that. Slow down, Cole! She is not even 6 months old yet!
I like this picture. This is Ali and Paige with Kelsi.
You wouldn't know it from this picture, but Kelsi was very much entertained by Paige all day long.

Back to my "roots"
I did the "new mommy" thing and cut my hair short earlier this week. I really like the cut...but a couple days later I went back and had it dyed back to my "natural" color. My hair was half grown out anyway...but look at my roots in the "before" pic to the "after" pic. Hmmm...my after seems a little darker to me. My stylist said that in a couple days it should fade a bit and if I still don't like it, we can weave in a little bit of color to it. I just don't know....

BEFORE:

AFTER:

I need to just put some red lipstick on and call myself snow white. Either that, or go to the tanning salon....

Ok, I still don't know why this isn't rotated. I rotated it and saved it, and it still won't work, so I hope you enjoy it even though it is sideways.

Wait, there's more!!

We moved on to "green veggies" this week. I thought that she would want her carrots and squash, but after a hesitant start....
"Thank you sir, can I have another!". She ate her peas right up! Good girl!

Kelsi has recently been VERY interested in what we are eating. I made soufles the other night and every time John took a bite, Kelsi looked up and opened her mouth wanting her turn....sorry sweetie...no chocolate for you yet.

John's hidden talent, looking cute and swimming

Please ignore the laundry in the background...anyway...this picture was taken on Mother's Day. Every girl loves to have her hair played with, and John played with mine for quite a long time and then all of a sudden he was "doing" my hair...and did a nice braid. Looks like John can help out with Kelsi's hair!
Just looking cute with Daddy in the morning....

Trying to sit up, but then got lazy and decided it was easier to just lean on her arm.

Kelsi's first swim! We put on her surfer outfit and headed to Lacey's!

She was a little unsure at first and then she started to like it. She did NOT like it when her Daddy dunked her a few times, but she seemed to enjoy herself over all.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
I hope all you mother's had a wonderful day and your husbands and children treated you with the appreciation that you deserve. John treated me very well for my first official Mother's Day ( I was prego with Kelsi during the last one). He bought me a beautiful bouquet of white flowers.

John cooked a delicious Fillet Mignon with a caramelized onion sauce. He asked me what I wanted for dinner and I tried to think of something easy for him to cook. I said, why don't you BBQ some chicken?? He looked disappointed and said, "Don't you want something special?" So, we bought some good steak and I showed him the recipe that I like for the sauce and he did a GREAT job! YUM YUM YUM! He treated me like a queen. (Debbie - you taught your son well!)
Me and John relaxing on the couch after a long day...

The joy of my life...thank you Kelsi for being the best daughter that I could ask for. I am doing my best for you...
I wanted to say a special Happy Mother's Day to my mom and to my mother-in-law. I love you both very much. Mom, thank you for always being such a strong example and rock of faith in my life. You continue to amaze me. Debbie, thank you for your example to your children. I am so thankful for your son and I know that his character can be attributed to you. Thank you for welcoming me into your family. I love you both, and Kelsi loves her grandma's!

FINALLY!!! A new camera has arrived!
Kelsi gave me a new camera and photo printer for Mother's Day. I was surprised that she knew exactly what I wanted. Here are a few pictures since having the new camera.
Kelsi has been eating solids for about a month now,but I haven't really taken any pics. She started eating carrots last week and this is a picture of her enjoying her dinner. Question to mothers out there...I threw a onesie that Kelsi had spit up carrots on in the washer and it didn't come out. Should I give it a try with some special stain remover, or is it a lost cause???
Kelsi and her new saucer. She has been playing with the same model at Amanda's house every morning, so we decided to buy her one that she could call her own. She hasn't figured out how to turn herself around yet, but she loves to be upright and hang out with me while I make dinner or if I am doing my hair in the bathroom.
Fun time with Daddy. John can always make Kelsi laugh. Check out her hair. I had it in a ponytail earlier in the day, and it hasn't calmed down from sticking straight up!
Can you say, "twins"??? I am sure that Kelsi's chubby cheeks will someday lengthen out just like her daddy. (Notice the little ponytail on her head! Trish put it in a ponytail for the first time a week or so ago and since then Kelsi has refused to let me do it...I snuck it in today while John was feeding her. Sneaky, sneaky.
Kelsi and her mommy. We are really good friends.

Life before digital...
5 months!!!
No camera yet, but "maybe" my husband will "surprise" me with one for Mother's Day. Here are a couple pics taken of John and Kelsi in the last couple weeks with a disposable camera.
Today, Kelsi weighed in somewhere between 17-18 lbs. I say 17, John says 18, so let's say she is 17.5lbs and still about 25 in. long. She finally likes her rice cereal and she loves her first veggie...carrots! I haven't given it to her straight yet, but she likes it in her rice cereal. I will post pics of that once I get a "real" camera. She has been doing this fake cough the last couple days that sounds really funny, she just really wants attention. She is eating in her high chair and loves her new saucer...again...pics to come. She refuses to roll over, she still just rolls to her side and reaches for things, but finally gives up. She also likes to be thrown in the air. This time last month she gave us weird faces when we tried to do it, now she smiles and laughs.

Hanging out with the boys
Our camera is broken and we won't be getting a new one until this weekend at the earliest, but here are a few pictures that Trish sent me from the park last week.

From right to left you can see the range of chubby little baby legs. Grant is long and lean, Kelsi is a little chunk-a-munk and Cole is ready for the WWF. Such cuties!
