Worst fear

As most of you know, Kelsi has many phobias. She is scared of being close to vegetation, hates elevators and so on and so on. However, the vacuum seems to have all others beat (well, maybe tied with the lawn mower). Even the mini-vac sends her screaming and crying so hard she is nearly hyperventilating. I don't know when this phase will end, but it has been going on for about 18 months or so and I just don't understand. These pictures are from earlier today. She hides behind her crib in terror.

Forget goblins and witches. Maybe John and I should dress up as a vacuum and lawn mower this Halloween.

Ashlyn did that about that age and is still doing it but not as bad as it used to be. I think it's just there personalities! Now ashlyn is into making sure everyone washes there hands because she learned something at school about it. I think I am going to have to ask the teacher to watch how they say things around ashlyn so she won't take it to the extreme! Good Luck!!

Kinda funny. :) Have you gotten her a toy vacuum yet? Just don't let Santa bring it because she'd eventually learn to not like that guy either.

Hmm. I like the toy vacuum idea. Maybe it will help? Quinn is scared of the vacuum too. All I have to do is mention the word and he will disappear into the farthest room in the house. LOL

I wonder if you could ever get her close enough to try it out when it's off, or to "help mama" or "be like mama" when you're cleaning. My only other though was I wonder if her ears are extra sensitive to that loud of a noise..??? Best of luck with that one. Again, my friends remind me of how blessed I am to have kids that want to do it (vacuum) themselves!
