Here are a couple of pictures just because she is so cute. She loves to sleep with her hands over her head. She is so funny. She is a really good sleeper which is really nice for me. She has been going about 5 hours lately, a couple times this week she has just been shy of 6 hours. What a good girl. I wished that I wasn't such a freaked out first time mom or you would have all died at what she looked like last night. Kelsi was a little off schedule last night and ended up drinking about 12 oz. of formula within a 3 1/2 hour timeframe. I had given her a bath and was feeding her the last bottle of the night and she was gulping it down. I pulled it away when she was almost done to wipe off her chin and when I went to offer it to her again she projectile vomited I am pretty sure all 12 oz. She has projectile vomited a couple of times since she was born, but this time was unbelievable. It went in all directions, mainly over her head. Her whole face was COVERED with formula. I freaked out and rushed her to the sink as John tried to assure me that it was "just milk" in her eyes and it wouldn't hurt her. Kelsi didn't seem to care that she looked like I poured pancake batter all over her face. Seriously, a picture would have been hilarious, but at the moment I thought she was going to have to go to the emergency room. Oh well. On another note, I started back to the gym about 2 weeks ago and finally had the courage yesterday to go to a "Body Pump" class. It is a 50 minute class where you lift weights for a specific body part (squats, chest, back, biceps, triceps, shoulders, lunges and abs) to a song each. I used to love this class, but today...I cannot walk without looking like...well let's just say it is funny. Every muscle hurts, but I am going back tomorrow. I know I just have to push through the first couple weeks of the class. I have 11 lbs to go to get back to pre-prego weight. I was very excited that the weight came off so fast, but I don't think my body will ever be the same. Good thing Kelsi makes up for all of that and then some!

ALL SMILES

Kelsi and I had fun taking pictures today. I got a couple of her smiling too. It is so hard to catch her smiling because I don't want to take my eyes off of her. The awesome blanket she is laying on was made by her Aunt Tamar. Thank you so much! Kelsi loves all of the different textures of it. She can't wait for the day that she can thank you in person.

OK, so the last one is a little indecent, but her face is so cute. John took over bath duty last night and we couldn't resist pulling out the camera.

Happy Birthday to ME!

I celebrated my 27th bday on Friday. It was a wonderful day. My birthday celebration started on Thursday night when my friends took me out to dinner and a movie. We saw the newest chick flick "27 dresses". John stayed home with Kelsi and it was my longest stretch without her. I missed her SO much that I was so excited to go home to see her. Friday morning, John woke me up and told me that he wanted to give me my present. He scheduled a day spa package for me and arranged babysitting for me. It was amazing. I was treated to a 1 hour massage, 30 minute aromatherapy steam bath and a foot scrub massage and a hand paraffin wax/massage. It was awesome. He is such a great husband. Much love to you honey. Later that night we went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant and then we went home and changed in to comfy clothes and ate cake that my friend Lacey made for me. You can see that I blew really hard to make sure that I got all the candles out. I am usually really bad at it...but I did it this year! It was a great day. Thank you to all the well wishers.

ALL HAIL TITAN! WE WILL MISS YOU OL' FRIEND.

We sold the Titan today to a really nice young couple from B.C. We had so much fun with that truck we are sad to see it go. What are we NOT sad to see go? Titan car payments, that's what! We are very greatful for Mom and Dad Calderwood for giving us their spiffy car for 2 years while they are in Cambodia. We will take great care of it! As for the Titan, we will miss you our friend. You have given us safety, warmed our bums with your heated seats, housed our many possessions in your 1000 compartments and I think our dogs will miss you the most, especially on those hot summer days when they long to go for a swim in the river. So, enjoy your new adventure in Canada, we think you are in good hands.

I have been tagged AGAIN...by Tamar.

My favorites:

Book: I am with Tamar on this one. My newly favorite books are the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer with my favorite book being Twilight. I had a hard time with New Moon, but only because I missed my secret crush Edward (ok, so it's not really a secret, my husband knows that I have a crush on a vampire).
Movie: I have different favorite movies from different genres, but I really enjoy the Bourne series
Color: Red and Blue in general. But I really like to decorate with greens and golds
TV shows: The Amazing Race. The office. My husband sent in an audition tape for Amazing Race but if we don't hear anything by the end of this month he didn't make it to the semi-finals.
Guilty Pleasures: Twilight Series and Bourne
Outfit: Nothing really at the moment. I guess it would have to be my gray sweats from H&M. John likes the way I look in them for some reason and they are super comfy.
Body part: I used to like my shoulders and my waist, but not right now. I also used to like my feet until John made fun of my toes (one of my toes is bigger than the other) I guess I will say my Clavicle (spelling?)
Kitchen tip: My Grandma told me that it is best to set the dinner table by the time your husband comes home that way he will think that dinner is almost ready even if it is not. I haven't done this, but I think it is good advice.
Life lesson: You are stronger than you give yourself credit for. Just let go of the things in life that hold you down (even though you may not think it is holding you down) and just breathe and let it be.
Activity: I love to sing.
Food: Dark Chocolate
Child raising tip: I am really new to this and I don't feel that I can give anyone advice at this point. I guess just breathe.
Pet peeve: Being late (only when I am late. I forgive others for being tardy but I can't STAND to be late to anything)
Game: Cranium
Tattoo: I don't like tatoos
Element: I hated Chemistry. I hate all the elements. Ok, selenium because it is fun to say. Tamar cheated by adding two elements together to get water.
I tag Lacey, Elise, Amanda, Jocelyn & Jen(or Lulu)

So, I went a little camera happy this week. I know my mom will be happy. Thanks to Ali and Mike for the Baby Einstein mat. She likes to look at herself in the mirror. It is really cute. I wonder which parent she gets that from? I know I am her mom, so I have to think she is cute but I really don't think I am just biased. She is so stinkin adorable.

Kelsi had another doctor appt today and she has hit the 9 lb mark. I was so worried about her weight so I was so relieved to hear that she gained a pound and a half in the last week and a half. She is 21 inches long and is just a really good baby. We still feed her two times during the night, but she goes right back to bed 95 percent of the time. She is able to hold her head up pretty well especially when I am burping her and she pulls her head back and looks at me as if to say...hey lady did I say I was done eating? Tomorrow marks my 6 weeks from being on maternity leave, I can't believe that I have hit my midpoint in spending my days with Kelsi. She continues to be just the best thing ever.

Ok, I am feeling pretty decent at the moment so I pulled out the camera and took a few shots of Kelsi in her bouncer. The picture of her looking surprised cracks me up. She has some of the funniest faces.

Kelsi hit her one month mark yesterday and sadly she is only back at her birth weight. However I know once she starts gaining weight that I am going to miss my tiny baby at the same time. I will update with more pictures very soon, but I have been pretty sick the last week or so and have not been able to pull the camera out...or give Kelsi a bath in the last 4 days. For those of you that remember what my health was like a few years ago, it is back. Not as bad as last time, but it seems that my mystery disease or what the doctors like to call "Lupus" is back. They have run tons of test and so far the indicators are pointing in that direction, we are just waiting on one more test results. Poor Kelsi has not enjoyed the antibiotics that I have been on as they are making her tummy hurt and she has been wanting to be held ALL THE TIME over the past few days. I do not know why they are making me stay on them when there isn't any cause of infection that they can find. We spent a few days in the hospital last week and one of the nights John took Kelsi home with him so I could have a night of uninterrupted sleep (minus the annoying nurses trying to do their job at all hours of the night). I was really worried when he took her for the night and a few of the times I woke up and freaked out wondering where she was before I remembered she was with John. I cannot believe that she is already a month old. I can't believe how fast time is flying.

Happy New Year everyone. Kelsi has been having a lot of fun with her Aunt Shayla and Aunt Kaylee and Grandma and Grandpa Manderino this last week as they have been visiting from California. She is being spoiled as she is being held all the time. On Sunday Kelsi received her name and blessing and it was wonderful to have so much of the family together. Grandma and Grandpa Calderwood as well as Aunt Melanie and Aunt Jalyn came down to visit as well for the day. We are doing pretty well, still tired but getting a little more used to the lack of sleep. Kelsi is still an iddy biddy and we have to go in to the doctor this week for another weight check to make sure she is gaining weight. She was still below birth weight at her 2 and a half week appt last week and if she hasn't gained weight by Thursday we are going to need to start supplementing her feedings with a special breastmilk formula with added protein and calories. She has been through a lot so far, but overall is a very happy baby.
