Chocolate Passion Bowl
(This one's for you, Shayla)

Super easy and super yummy.

  • Bake a 9X9 pan of brownies (you decide what recipe..I use the box for shorter prepping time).
  • Mix 2 4 serving boxes of chocolate instant pudding into 3 cups cold milk and whisk together
  • Stir about 1 C of cool whip into pudding mixture.
  • Layer about half of the brownies (cut into 1 in. squares) on the bottom of a large dish, top with pudding mixture, cut up strawberries, cool whip and then repeat!

ENJOY!!! (and yes, that is a cake in the background. It is a yummy recipe off of one of Heather's recipe links...I think it taste JUST like chocolate Costco muffins (chocolate chips included). Next time, I am putting the batter in muffin tins!) We brought the trifle to a friends house for dinner and left it there, so I am not two fisting cake and trifle (in case you were wondering).

LAZY WEEK
We haven't done anything too exciting in the last week. So, nothing too exciting to post about. But here are a few pics from the last week.
Kelsi having fun with her Dad. (I can't believe how big she is)

I got to watch the two youngest Folsom kids on Friday and Saturday. They are a lot of fun and such a help with Kelsi. John and I are considering adopting older kids to do the work for us! haha. This is a picture of Addison holding and entertaining Kelsi.

This is Claire feeding Kelsi. The only thing I couldn't get them to do was change her bum.
After we put Kelsi to sleep, the girls and I made "muddy buddies" (YUM) and watched a movie together before we went to sleep.

Night time adventures
Kelsi has been on a new kick the last couple weeks. She acts tired and goes to bed around 6:30-7pm, as usual, but then she starts to talk, squeal and play in her crib. When we come in to pull her down from the corner of the crib she laughs and laughs. She is just delusional with laughter. The other night we decided to give in and play for a few minutes. We put her on her tummy and she laughed and laughed until she puked (literally).

I thought that the combination of her cute swimsuit and her awesome post pony-tail hair style was blog worthy.

Kelsi and her GIRL friends!

We were very excited to go to the park with Natalie and her twin girls, Ava and Emma. They are 8 months old and just little sweethearts. Ava was the only one I could get to look at the camera.

The 3 musketeers

Kelsi, Grant and Cole at the park. It wasn't too many "posts" ago that they were all laying on their backs. Now they are all sitting up!

Kelsi had a great time at the park!

Happy Girl...and look at those slippers!

My friend Anita gave Kelsi these little soft slippers. I wished that they fit my feet.

Kelsi loves to hang upside down with her Daddy. John has been doing this to Kelsi since I think she was only a month old (while I shrilled in horror). She loves it now.

Kelsi's new trick
Kelsi is learning to hold her own bottle. I can't wait for the day when we can just hand it to her. She only holds it with John for some reason. Whenever, I try to make her hold it, she refuses. I think she is just so comfortable when Mommy feeds her.

Happy Father's Day!!!

I want to wish all the Father's a very happy Father's Day! I am especially thankful for my amazing husband who is such a great Dad. I am also very thankful for my own Dad who has selflessly put his girls interests in front of his own and worked so hard to support us.

Dad - thank you for being a great example of what it means to be a Father. I fondly remember our Daddy-Daughter dates and all the fun that we had. Thank you for teaching us so well even when it seemed that we (or I) wasn't listening.

John - I love how hands on you are with our little Kelsi. She loves you so much and I can see how much she adores you every time you play together. It melts my heart to see you snuggle with her, or read books to her or just tickle her. I love you. You are a great Dad, and I know that as Kelsi grows you will be able to meet her needs as her Father.

6 months old!!!

Kelsi turned 6 months last weekend. The time just keeps going faster and faster. Wow. Here are her stats:

Head: 42cm (85%)

Length: 26 3/4 in. (86%)

Weight: 17 lbs 6 oz. (76%)

Pretty well-porportioned girl! I think her weight would have been in the 80% if she hadn't been going the bathroom 6 times a day for the last 2 weeks. I took her to the doctor 2 weeks ago and she was 17 lbs. Only 6 oz. in 2 weeks? Not my girl. She is so much fun. Finally decided to roll over and sits up pretty well. She babbles and squeals non stop, unless she has something in her mouth. John loves it when she says "da-da". No ma-ma yet. We love her!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Our dogs turned "2" today. Happy birthday to them. I can't believe how fast they have grown. I remember when we first brought them home and their tummy's touched the grass while they ran through the lawn. I am so happy that Kelsi will have these two wonderful dogs to play with as she grows up.

I had to throw one of Kelsi in here as well, since she is 6 months old today. She has her doctor appt on Tuesday, so I will update stats then! She is a pretty happy girl, except her poor baby bum is raw at the moment. We have been trying to let her go without pants as much as we can (pictures are a little inappropriate to post), I can't stand that she hurts so much, but as long as we aren't changing her diaper, she seems happy.

My first stab at being "crafty"

I have not been able to find any cute headbands for Kelsi's hair. Her hair is so wild, that it mainly just stays on top of her head in a "stick-up" as my nieces call them or it just goes nat-ur-al. Since Kelsi is such the wiggle worm and does not like it when I mess with her hair, I figured headbands would be easier. Tamar told me how to make a homemade headband out of tights (since the ones online are overpriced) and even though, it didn't really make sense to me (since my mind starts wandering when anyone tries to explain anything crafty to me), I made my own version.

What do you think, sis? I hid the ugly glue with the big fat flower. I had no idea of what you were talking about with the "knot". I wouldn't want anyone to inspect my headband too closely, but it works I think.

Oh, Lucky!

John went mountain biking on Saturday and took the wood truck. When he left Lucky barked after him as usual, as if he was asking if he could go. John left without him and came back a few hours later. About 30 minutes after he got back, we found Lucky in the back of the truck. He rarely jumps in the back of the truck with the tailgate DOWN! We were very surprised that he got in with it up. He seemed to be telling us, "Next time, I am going with you whether you like it or not".

DOING BETTER AND BETTER EACH DAY

Kelsi is becoming quite the good sitter-upper. I am VERY excited about this. ( The picture below is of her cheating. She likes to lean on her arm sometimes).

What a difference a little antibiotic makes...

Kelsi came down with an ear infection last week. She was still a good little sleeper at night, but her naps were practically non-existant. This was one of the few ones...
A few moments later she was up...but very sleepy.

Two days later with some antibiotics! Our happy little girl is back!
