Amusement Park fun!

When my friend Kim asked if Kelsi and I would like to go with her to Silverwood theme park, I was a little hesitant at first. A) I was 9 months pregnant B) I wasn't sure how Kelsi would do at the park since her only trip to Disneyland was a flop and her trip to Knotts Berry Farm was only a little bit better. BUT it was free, Kelsi would get to hang with her friends and maybe I could get some contractions going by walking around all day.

THANK GOODNESS for Kim. She started the day by going on the kiddie rides with Kelsi who did NOT want to go on ANYTHING. But after she tried everything once, she was in heaven and wanted to go again and again! (Fortunately for Kim, she could go solo).
There was no one at the park, so we never had to wait in line and the kids could ride the rides over and over again without getting off.
The day went by so fast. I didn't go into labor, but I still had a good time. I even "snuck" my prego self onto the Log Ride.
It was a really warm day, so we took advantage of the water park. Here is a pic of my mean little Kelsi spraying some poor little kid. She can dish it out, but she can't take it!  She was fearless in the wave pool, which made me very nervous, but I was so glad that she was having fun. Next year we are buying a gold pass for our family for sure! THANKS Kim!

Fire Station

Kelsi's last field trip of the year was to one of the local fire stations. I think this was her favorite field trip of the year! The kids were SO interested in everything the firefighters had to say.

They loved watching him get into his fire fighting gear.

They all took turns getting into the truck too!

I thought Kelsi would freak out when the fireman put on his mask and began to talk like darth vader, but she thought it was really funny!

She still asks if we can go back and visit!

Baby June's Shower

My friends threw me a wonderful baby shower for June. The food was amazing!! 4 different kinds of amazing salads, the best bruchetta recipe you will ever try and curry chicken sandwiches.

My friend Shawnte made this amazing cake.  She is so talented and it was delicious!
There was such a nice turnout. This baby will be the best dressed little girl since Kelsi Lynn! A big shout out to my friend Kim for hosting the party. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life.

Dance

We enrolled Kelsi in Dance (Tap/Ballet) this year and she LOVED it. Her school had their end of the year recital last weekend and Kelsi was so excited to perform on a "real stage".  I love that she is not shy at all.  She knew the routines really well and her ballet routine made me tear up.  I am so proud of her.
Before class today, I snapped a couple pics of Kelsi in her dance costume and she really hammed it up! I didn't even ask her to pose.  I love my happy little dancer.

The month of May started out cold and rainy here in North Idaho, but half way through and we are in the mid 80s and soaking up some Vitamin D!

When Kelsi got home from preschool yesterday, I asked her if she wanted to go to the beach and she was SO excited.  We took a picnic lunch down and she played in the sand and water (brrrr) while mom sat her pregnant self on a chair and chatted with her friends.  The water is only about 58 degrees, but the kids did not seem to care.  I am SO ready for summer and many many MANY days spent at the lake.  I hope this little baby girl inside me will be up for it!

Easter 2012

April was a beautiful month in North Idaho.  We had SO much sun. It made me very happy. Kelsi loved searching for easter eggs during our neighborhoods annual Easter Egg Hunt.

We colored eggs Saturday night and Kelsi made extra "special" eggs.  She was very excited for the Easter Bunny to come!
Here she is in her Easter dress all ready for church.  I can't believe how much she has grown.  My little pumpkin is now a big girl.

Puerto Vallarta Babymoon

I had been excited about using our business points to go on a vacation this year, especially when we found out last fall that we were going to have another baby. We wanted to go to Mexico since we had both never been there before and we wanted to stay on the Pacific side since it would mean less travel time. After some research, we figured Puerto Vallarta was a great place to go.

Our flight was uneventful (just the way we like it). We were a little overwhelmed by all the timeshare sales guys in the airport that make you think you have to book a taxi through them to get to your hotel. I was almost swayed by one deal, but in the end we made our way passed them and into a taxi and on our way to the hotel.

After we dropped our bags off in our room, we got a recommendation from the hotel on a place to eat that we could walk to and headed that way. What is a trip to Mexico without a margarita? (Virgin, that is)

We were serenaded at the Happy Lobster by these guys and a harpist. They were VERY talented.

This was the view the first night we got to our hotel. We arrived close to sunset. It was breathtaking.

View from our room of one of our pools. On the second night, they even let off fireworks from our beach. Watching them from our room was amazing.

View from our room looking towards the "Malecon".

These are the tiki huts in front of our hotel.

We were not very impressed by the food we ate, but that guacamole was delicious!

Matt bought a few masks for his "kids".

The sunsets were breathtaking every night. I felt so spoiled to see so many in one week over the ocean.

John HAD to try some corn. The vendors looked annoyed when he and Matt made Nacho Libre comments.

One of the days was dedicated to the Marietta Islands. This was taken just as we were about to leave the harbor at 8am.

Sarah and I sailing (on the way back) to the harbor.

My favorite activity was Sailing. We went on a all day excursion with Pegaso Tour company. We sailed out on the Isis sailing boat and was served a light breakfast of drinks and pastries. Then we toured the bay and watched the mama and baby humpback whales, was served a yummy lunch and all the virgin Pina Coladas we could drink.

John is excited to try surfing in CA next time we make it out (but he will have to rent a wet suit, I'm sure).

John LOVED his day surfing. It was the most fun of the activities we were able to do. He got up on his second try. The beach was made for beginners. It had perfect 4 foot swells that were pretty constant.

This is a picture of part of the beach at Sayulita. It was a very cool, laid back beach town. It had a great beach. Sarah and I relaxed in the shade while the boys surfed. We took a local bus to get there, which took a little over an hour. It was hot, humid, smelly and uncomfortable, but it was CHEAP. :)

We spent a day at Playa de los Muertos. It was a nice beach, but really busy. We just relaxed on the beach most of the day. Sarah found a baby sea turtle that seemed to be on his last leg.

Our last night, we went for dessert at Bubba Gump shrimp...we were tired of the local food to be honest. There was an awesome clown there that did balloon tricks for the customers. He made Sarah and I cute rings, Matt got a crazy hat that said 99.9% Sexy and John's said 99.9% Virgin. He was very talented.

We had a great time, and had great company. Sarah is 3 months pregnant, so it was nice to have a fellow prego around.

First trip to the Dentist

Kelsi finally made it to the dentist. We have a good friend who is a Pediatric Dentist. Kelsi has been to the office many times, but never as a patient. She was a rock star. I am so proud of her. She came right in and laid down on the table.

Joana is great and cleaned Kelsi's teeth while Kelsi watched The Princess and the Frog on the TV screen on the ceiling (the shades are because it was a little bright in the room).

Here she is content, watching her movie and waiting for her turn to get some xrays.

She showed me how to properly brush an alligators/Dinosaurs (whatever that thing is) teeth. (As you can see, she made a friend while waiting)

She got xrays taken and thought it was really cool. Then her Dentist examined her and she is cavity free!

She is excited to go back to "Jane's Office" again soon. (Jane is her best friend and daughter of the dentist pictured above).

January was a bit of a blur for me, because we didn't take any pictures!! For New Years, we drove down to Clarkston for the long weekend and spent the time with our friends the Evans, Brumes, Ports & Folsoms. We love that we still feel at home whenever we go down to visit.

I also had a birthday in January! It wasn't very memorable except for the fact that I was REALLY sick. It started out with a bad cold and then got worse. After a night of not being able to catch my breath after walking up the stairs, we knew it was time to seek medical care. Luckily, it was only the early stages of pneumonia and they ruled it a bad case of bronchitis. Thankfully, after a large dose of antibiotics - I was able to kick it out of my system.

One thing that I have neglected to mention is that I am pregnant!! I'm just over 22 weeks along now and I get bigger every day. We are due June 23rd and we are having another girl and are very excited that Kelsi is going to have a sister. I love my sisters SO much. I don't know how my life would be if I didn't have them to depend on, so I hope that Kelsi and her little sister will be close as well. This pregnancy started out the same as the first one. Sick, sick, sick. Luckily, my body responds well to Zofran and I had the doctor give it to me right away. I looked back at my entries when I was pregnant with Kelsi and I am exactly the same as I was with her. Carrying the same, gained the same amount of weight at this time. HOPEFULLY, I won't have sciatic problems this time around.

I had to post this cute pic of these two buddies. My friend Kim took care of Kelsi one day when I was sick last month and she recorded them singing and dancing to a song...in their swimsuits...on top of chairs. I can't get it to upload, so you can just enjoy the picture. Trust me...it is adorable.

Christmas 2012

Better late than never. We have not been very good at picture taking lately. Christmas was very nice this year. Christmas Eve we had John's parents over for a nice ham dinner. It was so delicious!! Sunday (Christmas) morning, we woke up to see we had a visit from Santa.

Kelsi received some fun toys and she was SO excited about EVERYTHING.

See??She is hugging a present!

We had John's parents over for Christmas brunch and enjoyed each other's company. Later that night, John, Kelsi and I headed over to our friends the Pond's home for their traditional Crab Leg Fest. There were SOOO may people there and we had a great time.

We love the Christmas season where we can truly reflect on the Savior and our family.

New do

Kelsi got about 6 inches chopped off her hair today. It was such a better experience than her last trip to the hair zoo.

There is a cute kids salon in Post Falls that I take Kelsi to get her haircut. As you can see, they get to sit on cute animals while they get their hair cut and watch a movie of their choosing. Kelsi didn't resist, whine or cry the whole time. She was very excited and she looks so cute with her sassy short hair.

I'm 4!

Kelsi turned 4 earlier this month and we couldn't love her more.

She asked me a couple months prior if she could have a bunny cake when it was her birthday. VERY last minute (as in frosting and decorating RIGHT before we blew out the candles) I got it done for her and she was very happy.

Very elementary, but all that matters is that Kelsi was thrilled.

We open presents first thing in the morning. When I woke up, Kelsi was sitting amongst all her gifts and asked, "Mommy, whose presents are these?" When I told her that they were hers of course, she jumped up and yelled "OH THANK YOU MOMMY!!".

My creative girl got tons and tons of beads. She has been making necklaces, rings and bracelets ever since.

She also loves her puzzles!

At Kelsi's 4 year old check up, she got all her immunizations, so she is good until she is 11 yrs old! YAY! She is 43 3/4 in. tall (97th percentile) and 43 lbs 2oz. (92%). We love our big girl! She is very excited to be a big sister.
